We are Grazer Akrosphäre – a place for community, creation, and training in contemporary circus arts, with a special focus on partner acrobatics and aerial arts.
What connects us is more than sport or technique: it is trust. Courage. Movement. Expression. And the feeling of creating something together.
With around 150 members, our community has grown steadily over the past few years—and with it, our dream of a space that is not only a training venue, but a true home for circus arts in Graz.
Our circus center already exists—in Puchstraße at the Taggerwerke. And now we are ready for the next big step: we are building a stage inside our circus center.
Why this stage matters
A stage is much more than a platform with lights.
It is a place where circus arts become visible—and where people are deeply moved.
With this stage, we want to create space for:
- Professional contemporary circus productions—from Graz, Austria, and around the world
- Open stages—where artists can experiment, perform, and share their work
- Residency showings—for creative processes and the development of new productions
- Children’s performances—so that our young circus students can experience real moments on stage
- Audiences of around 80 people—close to the action and fully immersed in the experience
This stage will be a place where people don’t just watch—they connect. A place where ideas are born, grow, and can finally be shared with others.

To make this stage a reality, we aim to raise €30,000 by Summer 2026.
This amount covers not only the construction of the stage itself, but everything needed to transform it into a fully functional performance space:
- Stage construction and build-out
- Lighting and sound systems
- Curtains and stage surroundings
- Seating for approximately 80 audience members
- All necessary technical and organizational implementation
